Two years ago, I was named Teacher of the Year at my school. Lucky for me our new principal came to me with a much better T.O.Y. gift then the usual crystal bowl. I was given the life altering gift of going to the Ron Clark Academy! I was on cloud nine for weeks before AND after the extraordinary experience. Watching the video brought back so many amazing feelings! My school is about 45 minutes north of the academy and my principal and I talked non-stop on the ride home. We have since incorporated a few things from our peek into their inspiring world. We are an elementary school, unlike the academy, but their basic family feel, motivation and respect can be brought to any level. I agree with you that every teacher should have the opportunity to enter those gates, slide down the slide, and meet some awesome teachers and students that are making positive changes in our society!
Thanks for sharing your RCA experience and allowing me to revisit a wonderful memory!

Natashia- I am so glad that you were able to read through this post. Those kids are truly inspiring. It doesn’t surprise me how they all came together to help you and your daughter. I am so blessed to have spent a day there…I can’t imagine what it’s like to experience it for four years!
