Is there a way to unsee and unhear something one sees and hears?
A good movie is something that I enjoy, but lately most movies I have watched have not been as enjoyable as they should have been.
If I hear certain words in the movie they bring to mind something that happened during the four years before the 2020 election. The same thing happens with some things I see.
I so wish I could unsee and unhear all I saw and heard from the White House in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Just to name a couple of the words I keep hearing that spoil a movie for me, “Patriot” or “patriots” Those words will never have the same meaning to me as they once did.
Speaking of movies, I watched one yesterday that left me thinking. What the movie was about could really happen and possibly is in some way already. “The Circle” with Tom Hanks, have you seen it?
I don’t know if I can ever be surprised or shocked at anything that happens in the political and electronic world from now on.
After the years of 2017 through 2020 who knows what all is going on we don’t know about. I have seen movies in years past and at the time thought that could not happen, but it did happen years later.
Same! But isn’t a relief not to worry every single day that the president is doing or saying or tweeting something he shouldn’t?
Yes, indeed!
I feel the same way about the word “patriot.” I would just as soon erase the last four years. Unfortunately “it” still shows up now and then in the news.
I could not agree with you more. My time watching news has been cut drastically because “it” is still in the news.
You seem to have a way of hitting upon a subject with which I totally agree. I will never forget the sick feeling I had when the 45th President was elected. I am so thankful we were able to survive the most stressful four years I can remember in my long lifetime. I pray this country will never have to endure so much again.
I saw ‘The Circle’, and I agree with you. With the technology we have today, and its fast-moving pace, what happens in the movie could very surely be possible.
I too find it hard to hear the word Patriot these days. It is being used in the wrong places by the wrong people. Actually, in my opinion, the same could be said about the word ‘Christian’. When I say I am Christian, I do not mean I am the same as the so-called Christians I see today. But that is for another discussion, sometime. š
I join you in praying this country will never have to endure so much again.
Some of what is being done with technology to me is just scary.
I am in agreement with you on the word “Christian”. There is a lot I could say about that too.
Your sentiments ring true for so many of us!
Yes, those four years were from a bad movie. Who knew it could actually show up in our own front yard!
Those years are like a nightmare that seems to have no end.
