A mishap day

After arising from a great, restful night of sleep my day began like days I refer to as mishap days. You know those days when one discovers they have their shirt on inside out or their pants on backward.

I was dressed and ready to begin my day. A cup of coffee is pretty near the top of the list of morning activities. I was making a cup of coffee when I accidentally hit my water glass with my hand and caught it before it fell from the counter, thankfully it was empty. When something like that happens early in the morning my day usually has a few more mishaps.

When I saw the sun shining, which I had not seen for several days, I was thrilled and so far, no more mishaps.

We did not get snow where I live, we had sleet then freezing rain and more sleet on top of that. The temperature has been in the teens and twenties. Today the thermometer on the porch has been in the thirties and forties. I was able to get out and break up the ice and sleet from the front porch and steps.

I am glad to see the warmer weather and the sun to help melt the ice and sleet. But what I am most glad about is that spring is getting nearer day by day. I am ready to not see any more of this.

I am ready to see these beautiful iris pants.

And plants when beautiful butterflies are on them doing what they do.

Come on spring I am sure ready for you. The last two winters have been way more winter than I like.

    • Wow, a foot of snow is a lot. The most we have had in my area in over 50 years is 13 inches, nowhere near that much ever again. We get mostly freezing rain in the winter. Stay warm and safe, we will see spring weather soon, hopefully.

  1. Those temperatures are cold. We’ve mainly had a mix of cloud coverage and some sunshine. When the sun is out I try to get out and walk around the block. I bought a small pot of daffodils. They are temporarily indoors for now. Their cheery little faces are sweet.. 😁

    • It is beautiful here today, I have been out breaking up ice and removing it from places I need it gone. It will be nice here all week according to our forecast, so I will be outside a lot. Keep enjoying the beautiful daffodil faces.

      • Thank you! Has the ice melted by now? We have had some fog and grey days, with sunshine peeking through the clouds at times. If there is still ice be careful..

        • I hope you see nice, sunny days soon. The ice has finally melted from my yard. It was in the 60’s yesterday it what ice was left melted quickly. It feels good to be able to get out in the yard again. Have a great day!

          • Good morning! That’s good to hear. The fog cleared and I walked around the block. I pulled a few weeds when I got back. A neighbor has pretty bright crocuses blooming. Kind of an orangish/yellow. You have a good day too. 🤗

            • Good day to you, I am glad to hear you had a nice walk around the block after the fog cleared. I have seen no blooming around here, but I hope to soon. Crocuses are pretty. I just came in from a nice walk around my back yard.

    • I do too. Ice is not all gone yet. What is in the sun is melting good today, but what is in the shade is not moving. Hopefully it will all be gone in a couple of days. Thank you for coming by and commenting.

  2. I hope your day continued without further mishaps! 🙂 I’m in New England, and it was ice, ice and more ice all day yesterday! I agree that it will be nice to see the Spring! At least your beautiful flower photos in this post can keep us believing in better days to come! 🙂

    • Anita, I am sorry that you have ice to deal with. Thank you for your comment. I am looking forward to us both seeing flowers blooming and no more ice.
