People say they have a best friend or best friend forever. I cannot say I have either of them. As for friends though I can say that I am blessed with four neither of which are better than the other.
One of those friends is my sister and friend who has been in my life for 80+ years. She is always there for me at any time for any reason.
Another is a lady twenty years younger than I. We have been friends for 40+ years. She is my Scrabble buddy. Our children grew up together.
Two of those special friends live far from me, one in Oregon and the other in California, we have been friends for 30+ years. We have never met in person, but we stay in contact and each of them have helped me more times than I can count. We are “sisters of the heart”.
I found the following quote today. It says what I have never been able to put into words what my dear, special friends are to me.
“A friend is a person with whom one may share secrets, enjoy joys, work through sorrow and weep over losses. A friend is a person with whom one may talk, laugh, cry and share jokes. But the greatest gift of all is the ability to accept another person for who they really are.”-Unknown
My love for these four ladies is beyond words. I am grateful they are in my life. I hope everyone has one or more friends like I have been blessed with.

I love your definition of friends. Someone who accepts you as you are. Like you, my best friend is my sister. We live far apart today but still when I face a difficulty, I pick up my phone and call, knowing she will be there to laugh with me, to cry with me and most importantly to pray with me.
It warms my heart to know that you are also blessed with a sister you can go to with anything and know she is there for you no matter what.
