Name and Spring

When I decided to have this blog for reasons I won’t go into I chose to not use my actual name. I chose “Frony” because so few people knew me by that name.

Now that I no longer feel the need to stay totally incognito, I will be using another nickname. It is a short version of my name and a nickname that I much prefer “Mags”. For those of you who have been so kind to follow my blog I wanted to explain so you would know I am the same person just changing my name.

Redbud tree

The redbud tree in the backyard has beautiful blooms. One of the first signs of spring in my yard. The weather is still not spring-like every day, but some of the trees and shrubs are are showing their colors.

Bridal wreath

Right now the bridal wreath is covered in pretty green leaves. Very soon it will be loaded with beautiful clusters of white flowers. The photo above was taken awhile back, I am not sure how many years ago. The shrub is much larger now.

Early morning blessing

On this day 2 years ago.

It was 5:55 a.m. and except for the streetlights and the yard light it was still dark outside. I heard the beautiful song of the little wren that sits at my window most mornings around 7:30 a.m. and sings for me.

Carolina wren enjoying sunshine after several days of rain.

Those little wrens sing off and on throughout the day at my place, but I have not heard one that early since that day.

We had had rain for several days and that was the first day without rain for a few hours, more rain was coming. That was a special blessing to hear that beautiful song before dawn.

So many little things can make a difference to us just at the right time. We can make a difference in someone’s life by doing something that seems small to some but would be a big blessing to others.

We should never stop being respectful and kind to others and being thankful for the beauty that surrounds us in nature.
