Wondering a lot lately

Lately I have found myself wondering about people who believe that they are judge and jury of all others in our country. To what or whom do they base their belief on?

Do they really believe they have been appointed judge and jury or that it is their calling in life? Or is it that they just don’t like anyone who looks or believes differently than they do?

So far I have found no one who can give me an answer that can be backed up with fact or even make sense. Some say they get it from the Bible, if this is true show me…I have not found it there. If not the Bible then show me the source the others believe to be true.

Our country would have fewer issues if everyone was treated equally. We all need to show more kindness, compassion and respect to others and leave the judging to the real Judge.

A little of what I have learned in 2020

Some people I thought I knew well; I don’t know at all.

That more human beings than I could ever have thought or dreamed are so cruel to others.

Doves are not always peaceful like I thought…they fight other birds over food and take over bird feeders. One or two will sit on the feeder from morning until night to keep all birds but doves off.

Blue Jays not only protect their young, but they warn the songbirds of pending danger and will squawk loudly when danger is near to help keep them safe.

Politics and our voting system are all messed up and there is a slew of things that need changing.

More politicians than I would have thought care about themselves and not others, nor do they care about the good of our country and democracy.

Relationships broken because of politics. It is heartbreaking that some care more about politics than their family and friends.

Millions of people believe lies that don’t even make sense and lie when the truth would serve them better.

That there are thousands if not millions of people who hoard items that many needs and cannot get because the hoarders don’t think about others.

In some neighborhoods one has to be careful about what they put in their yards because of the possibility of being shot.

Although I have voted in every election for many years, I never imagined I would be as involved in keeping up with politics like this year.

That so many refuses to do such a simple thing as wearing a mask to protect others and themselves.

If one wears a mask in public, they risk being verbally or physically abused. If one chooses to not wear a mask in public, they are also at risk for the same kind of abuse.

There are still some people around the world that care about others, show respect, have empathy and use common sense.

Thankfully there are still some people who care about our democracy, our country and what happens around the world.

Blessings and good things can be found, sometimes it just takes a little more time to see or hear about them than in times past.
